Dina Nabih is a trainee humanistic counsellor and is registered with the BACP. She works within The Awareness Centre’s low‑cost counselling service in Clapham. Dina is currently working towards a BSc in Humanistic Counselling. Her approach is grounded in the core humanistic values of empathy, authenticity and respect for each client’s unique experience, and she is committed to offering a warm, collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients can explore their inner world at their own pace.

Dina offers a supportive, compassionate space where clients can feel heard, understood and accompanied as they make sense of their thoughts, feelings and experiences. Her humanistic orientation means she sees each person as inherently resourceful, and she works alongside clients to help them reconnect with their strengths, values and sense of agency. Alongside this, Dina has an interest in Gestalt‑informed ways of working, particularly the mind–body connection and how gentle awareness of physical sensations can support emotional understanding. She is attuned to the ways identity, culture and lived experience shape a person’s emotional landscape, and she welcomes clients from all backgrounds.

Dina has experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, low self‑esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma, displacement, cultural identity issues and periods of transition. Her approach is gentle, collaborative and tailored to the needs of each client, with an emphasis on building safety, trust and self‑understanding.

Before training as a counsellor, Dina spent many years working in the non‑profit and community sector, supporting refugees, asylum seekers, young people and individuals facing mental and physical health challenges or disabilities. Her roles involved one‑to‑one support, mentoring, conflict resolution, group facilitation and helping people navigate complex life transitions. These experiences have given her a deep appreciation for resilience, the impact of systemic pressures and the importance of being met with compassion and dignity. British‑born and holding both South Asian and Arab heritage, Dina brings lived experience of cultural and religious complexity, which informs her sensitivity to issues of belonging, identity and navigating multiple worlds. She has a particular interest in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and self‑esteem difficulties, as well as those who feel caught between cultures, who are adjusting to new environments, or who are seeking to understand themselves more fully in the context of their personal histories.
