Eddie Lam
Eddie Lam works with an integrative counselling approach, grounded in the belief that no two clients are the same, and that even similar experiences can be felt and understood very differently by different people. He draws on a range of therapeutic approaches and techniques, always guided by what each client finds most comfortable, safe, and meaningful. Eddie places strong emphasis on creating a supportive and non-judgemental space where clients are encouraged to explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. He works collaboratively with clients, empowering them to discover solutions together rather than imposing a fixed way of working. Through this process, clients are supported to recognise strengths they may not have realised they had, to find a voice that may have been silenced by others or by circumstances, and to explore possibilities they may never have thought were open to them.
Drawing from both his professional and lived experience, Eddie specialises in working with workplace stress, relationship difficulties, LGBTQ+ clients, and the challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals, particularly autism and ADHD. His long standing work in high-pressure corporate environments gives him a deep understanding of the strain people experience when trying to balance demanding careers with personal relationships and wellbeing. As a queer therapist himself, Eddie brings particular sensitivity and insight into issues such as identity, coming out, same-sex relationships, anxiety around rejection, and experiences of exclusion or misunderstanding. His work with neurodiverse children has also shaped a patient, affirming, and strengths-based way of working, where clients are supported to flourish without feeling judged, analysed, or required to prove themselves. Eddie offers a therapeutic space rooted in empathy, respect, and genuine understanding, where clients can feel safe to be fully themselves.
Eddie has over 15 years’ experience leading employee mental health and wellbeing initiatives within the financial and legal sectors. He holds a Master’s degree in Organisational and Social Psychology from the London School of Economics (LSE). Eddie currently sees clients as part of his placement with NHS Lambeth Talking Therapies and is studying for an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling with The Awareness Centre. Alongside his clinical training he co-facilitates monthly support groups with Queer Minds, a London-based mental health charity supporting LGBTQ+ people, and volunteers with All Aboard Club, where he runs monthly playgroups for autistic and ADHD children.
