Francesca De Giacomo’s approach sits within a structured, time-limited model, where she supports clients presenting with anxiety, low mood, stress, and related difficulties. Her core training is grounded in a person-centred approach, with placement practice delivered using a solution-focused framework aligned with NHS service requirements. In her work with NHS clients, Francesca focuses on collaborative goal-setting, careful use of outcome measures, and helping clients identify practical and realistic steps that feel manageable within a brief intervention. She works with attention to client autonomy while maintaining clarity around boundaries, session structure, and the limits of the service. She is familiar with routine risk assessment and escalation procedures and works within established safeguarding and referral pathways.

Alongside her work at The Awareness Centre, Francesca is completing a face-to-face placement within a domestic abuse support charity. This role involves working with clients experiencing high levels of emotional distress, vulnerability, and complex relational histories. Across her training and placement experience, she has developed confidence in working calmly under pressure, responding to risk, and maintaining a steady therapeutic stance in challenging situations. Francesca is committed to ethical practice, regular supervision, and reflective leaning. She values clear communication, consistency, and respect for individual difference. She works with awareness of the social, relational, and contextual factors that influence mental health and help-seeking. Within the scope of her training, she aims to offer clients a reliable and thoughtful therapeutic space while continuing to develop her clinical skills through supervision, feedback, and ongoing professional development.

Francesca is a trainee integrative counsellor currently completing a Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Counselling and is a BACP student member. At The Awareness Centre, she works within the NHS Talking Therapies service, providing short-term counselling to adult clients in an online setting.
