Gemma Knight
Dr. Gemma Knight is a Clinical Psychologist (ClinPsyD) registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC, PYL34050). Alongside her private practice at The Awareness Centre in Tooting, Gemma works as a specialist Clinical Health Psychologist in the NHS, and in research, as a therapist on clinical trials at King’s College London. She works with a range of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness and compassion-focused therapy.
Living with anxiety and worry, low mood, stress, or a long term condition (i.e. being a human being) is frustrating and overwhelming at times. Gemma offers person-centred psychological support to help people relate differently to these challenges. Sessions are aimed at developing psychological flexibility to discover more ‘workable’ ways of relating to our experience. By developing skills to help step back and make space for some discomfort in life, we can allow more time and energy for the things that matter most (our values).
If you would benefit from support with managing thoughts, feelings, symptoms and sensations surrounding your mood or health, please feel free to get in touch with the team and discuss what might be helpful.
