Jade Comben is a trainee psychodynamic psychotherapist and is a student member of the BACP.  She is currently studying for a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the University of Brighton. Jade works in The Awareness Centre’s Low Cost Service in Clapham.

Jade is a warm and empathetic therapist who has a deep understanding of the toll that life can take on people emotion and psychological wellbeing. Using a psychodynamic approach to sessions, Jade works with clients to look at patterns of behaviour that they have developed throughout life and understanding the influence that the past has on the present. This helps clients to make sense of who they are today. Mindful that having an accepting and trusting therapeutic relationship allows clients to talk freely and openly about topics such as childhood and relationship with their parents and is vital to positive experiences in psychotherapy, Jade works with clients in a collaborative way to offer a supportive experience.

With a background in marketing and communications, Jade has an interest in the way in which stressful workplaces can have an all encompassing effect on people’s lives. She understands that the extreme pressures that many of feel as a result of our work can cause stress, anxiety and lead to unhealthy coping mechanisms. Jade has also worked as a volunteer crisis support worker for the charity Shout! and currently mentors young refugees who are newly arrived to the country.
