Jo Lewis
Jo Lewis has integrative approach which allows her to support clients using a tailored approach for each person, such as solution-focused, Gestalt and person-centred therapy techniques to create a counselling relationship specifically adapted to meet individual needs. Jo’s aim is to create a warm, reflective, and collaborative space where people can feel safe enough to explore difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences at their own pace. Jo recognises the impact that life experiences, relationships, and wider systems can have on emotional wellbeing. Her approach is compassionate, grounded, and focused on helping individuals build understanding, resilience, and a stronger sense of self. Jo works with people experiencing anxiety, low mood and life transitions, supporting them to build insight, resilience, and self-compassion.
Initially training as a drama therapist, Jo has subsequently had over 20 years of experience working with and supporting people in the sectors of addiction, mental health and homelessness and for the last 10 years, supporting women in an intensive, trauma-informed service. This work has led to experience of supporting those who have been impacted by stress, anxiety, depression and loss. At the heart of her work is the belief that everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgement
Jo is a trainee integrative counsellor, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working in line with their professional and ethical standards. She is working within the NHS talking therapies service in Lambeth. Jo is currently working towards an advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling.
