Her integrative training enables her to tailor therapy to each individual, drawing on different therapeutic models to meet clients’ unique needs and circumstances. She is committed to providing an ethical, compassionate, and professional service, creating a therapeutic relationship that supports clients in exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences at a pace that feels comfortable for them.
Julia provides a safe, warm, and non-judgemental space where clients can think, feel, and reflect openly. Her approach is empathetic, curious, and collaborative, always guided by the unique needs and goals of each individual. She believes that clients are the experts in their own lives and that everyone has the capacity and inner resources to create meaningful change when offered the right support. Working integratively, Julia draws on a range of therapeutic approaches, including Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Solution-Focused therapy. This flexible way of working allows her to adapt her approach to suit each client’s circumstances, helping them gain a deeper understanding of themselves, develop greater self-awareness, and build on their existing strengths. Julia values the therapeutic relationship as a central part of the counselling process and strives to create an environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered.
Before training as a counsellor, Julia worked in the charity sector, supporting staff through professional challenges and leading projects that promoted the wellbeing of healthcare professionals. She also has experience working within the science sector, which has shaped her strong belief in evidence-based practice and continues to influence her work as a counsellor. Julia appreciates the importance of understanding each person’s unique experiences and the wider context of their lives. She has experience working with clients facing a variety of emotional and psychological difficulties and is committed to helping them navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence, resilience, and self-understanding. Her previous professional experience, combined with her therapeutic training, enables her to bring both compassion and thoughtful curiosity to her work with every client.
