Kitty Felix-Smith
Kitty’s approach focusses on offering compassionate and individualised support to every client. It is based on their Humanistic teaching; emphasising self-awareness and personal growth. This is by fostering a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their feelings. Working in the moment with the client, what to facilitate acceptance, change and autonomy as well as building and maintaining healthy relationships. Kitty uses both talking therapy and Somatic work to bring the cognitive and the felt experience into the clients awareness, Integrating the clients parts of self.
Kitty has a strong background in mental health and the charity sector, offering a diverse range of support to marginalized communities. Over the years, they have worked in various roles, particularly in mental health advocacy, where they’ve supported individuals in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Their experience also spans housing and homelessness services, giving them insight into the challenges faced by vulnerable groups. Kitty is especially skilled in working with LGBTQ+ individuals around complex issues around gender and sexuality, providing a safe space for self-expression and understanding. Additionally, they have experience supporting those grappling with mental health struggles, including depression and anxiety. Kitty also specialises in navigating relationship difficulties, helping clients address feelings of disconnection and providing strategies to foster healthier relationships. A key focus of their work is supporting individuals who experience isolation, helping them feel seen and heard while guiding them through their emotional struggles.
Kitty Felix-Smith is a trainee Humanistic Psychotherapist and is a Student UKCP member. They work within the NHS service in Lambeth. They are also working towards a Masters in Humanistic Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
