Kristina Nilsson is a warm and compassionate trainee counsellor registered with British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists. She is currently working towards her Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and also brings her 50+ years of life experience into the therapeutic room. Kristina believes we live in world where we rarely take a moment to really stop and sit with our feelings. More often than not we turn to drink, drugs, food, sex or any other distraction to avoid feeling only because it is so painful. We might struggle with relationships at home or at work and feel lonely and disconnected. There are so many reasons why we might feel stuck in life. Our world is increasingly difficult to navigate and many people just end up feeling lost. Whatever your struggles please know you are not alone.

Kristina offers a warm and compassionate person centred approach to counselling which is client led. Together with Kristina you can explore what lies behind some of your emotional discomfort and distress. Her areas of interest are: anxiety and depression, domestic, sexual and financial abuse and coercive control, alcohol- and substance abuse, low self esteem, relationship difficulties, the menopause and bereavement.

Kristina is a classical musician and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Music from Royal College of Music, Stockholm in her native Sweden. She sings, teaches singing and runs choirs.

As a member of British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists, Kristina strictly adheres to their Ethical Framework and aims to work in an ethical and boundaried way where counsellor and client both feel safe. Kristina works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS Wandsworth Counselling Services.
