Laura Grigore
Laura Grigore is a humanistic counsellor in training, working within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Clapham. She is currently working towards a BSc in Humanistic Counselling and is a student member of the BACP. Her approach draws from Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis theories.
Laura offers a calm, empathetic space where clients are gently supported to explore their thoughts, feelings, and life experiences, however complex or overwhelming they may feel. She believes that each client already holds the answers they need, and therapy can be a space to reconnect with those inner resources in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Her Person-Centred foundation means the work is led by your unique experience, at your own pace, with deep respect for your inner wisdom and autonomy. Drawing from Transactional Analysis, she may offer simple, psychoeducational insights around ego states and patterns of relating that can support greater self-understanding. Her Gestalt influence brings a holistic and creative quality to the work, with space for relational exploration and artistic expression if this feels meaningful to you. Laura especially welcomes those who may feel stuck, misunderstood, or unsure where to begin, offering a space where all parts of you are invited and held with care.
Before training as a therapist, Laura worked in journalism and child education – both fields that deepened her understanding of people’s stories, communication, and emotional development. She has experience working with clients facing anxiety, low self-esteem, burnout, neurodivergence, OCD, trauma, bereavement, relationship issues, and loneliness. She brings a grounded, thoughtful presence to her work and a strong belief in each person’s capacity to grow, heal, and make meaning of their own experience.
