Lea Lapoumeyroulie appreciates the uniqueness of every individual and offers a safe, non-judgmental space. Lea takes a warm and empathetic approach and offers a supportive space where clients can open up and feel seen and heard for who they truly are. While counselling helps clients to process difficult or painful thoughts and feelings, she believes that therapy can also focus on the potential of her clients. She works with them to identify and draw on their inner resources to live a fuller, more satisfying life. Working integratively, Lea incorporates person-centered and psychodynamic approaches, enabling clients to work with both present and past experiences. She tailors therapy to meet client needs, fostering self-awareness, resilience, and growth. Lea creates a supportive environment, helping clients develop healthy coping mechanisms and confidently face challenges. Leas approach helps clients identify patterns in their thoughts and behaviours.
With a background in hairdressing and customer service, Lea has developed strong interpersonal skills, active listening, and the ability to build trust with diverse individuals. Her experience has given her insight into workplace dynamics, emotional well-being, and the challenges people face in high-pressure environments. She understands how internal and external stressors can lead to unhelpful coping strategies and is passionate about supporting others in developing healthier ways to manage emotions and stress. Having lived in a different country, Lea has gained a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity, adaptability, and the complexities of human experiences. This exposure has enhanced her ability to empathize with individuals from various backgrounds, understand different perspectives, and provide a more inclusive and culturally sensitive approach to counselling. Her ability to connect with people from all walks of life makes her well-suited for being a counselling, where creating a safe and supportive environment is essential.
Lea is an integrative counsellor and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Having completed a level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills and level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies, she is now working towards her level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. Lea is working within The Awareness Centre’s NHS Counselling service in Wandsworth.
