Lidia Bhaskar is an integrative counsellor offering counselling in both English and Russian, providing clients with the opportunity to express themselves in the language in which they feel most comfortable. Lidia works with adults and teenagers aged 13 and over, supporting them with a range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, identity issues, and the impact of difficult childhood experiences. She also supports clients navigating major life transitions, relationship changes, family difficulties, work-related stress and burnout. In her work with teenagers, Lidia provides a supportive space to explore issues such as anxiety, self-esteem, friendships and relationships, school-related difficulties, identity, emotional regulation and the challenges that can come with growing up and finding their place in the world.

Lidia’s approach is compassionate, non-judgmental and client-led, creating a safe and supportive space where clients can feel heard and understood. She believes therapy is a collaborative process and works alongside each client to explore their thoughts, feelings, relationships and experiences at a pace that feels right for them. While her work is rooted in person-centred counselling, Lidia works in an integrative way, drawing on elements of other therapeutic approaches according to the individual needs of each client. She recognises that adults and teenagers may need different ways of engaging with therapy and adapts her approach accordingly, helping clients develop greater self-awareness, understand patterns in their lives and relationships, and find ways of managing difficult emotions and experiences.

Lidia has a particular interest in working with teenagers and supporting young people who may be struggling with school, friendships and relationships, self-esteem, identity, emotional regulation, or feeling different from those around them. She is also interested in working with neurodivergent clients and recognises that therapy may need to be adapted to different ways of communicating, processing emotions and experiencing the world. Lidia also has a strong interest in the impact of culture, migration and living between different cultures, including questions of identity, belonging and adjustment. She welcomes clients from all backgrounds and is committed to providing an inclusive, respectful and supportive therapeutic environment where clients can explore their experiences, develop a greater understanding of themselves and work towards meaningful change.
