Louise Codrington
Louise Codrington offers a warm, relational space for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences. She believes that therapy is not only about addressing past difficulties but also about empowering clients to create meaningful change in their lives. Using an integrative approach, Louise combines techniques from various therapeutic modalities to tailor the work to each individual’s needs. This approach may include psychodynamic, cognitive, and experiential methods, as well as relational therapy to deepen the therapeutic connection and encourage personal growth. Louise is committed to creating a safe and non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard and supported throughout their therapeutic journey.
Whilst training to become a therapist, Louise works as a dental nurse, which has given her a unique understanding of healthcare environments and the pressures people can face in their personal and professional lives. This background helps her connect with clients who experience stress, anxiety, or other emotional challenges related to healthcare settings. She has a particular interest in working with clients dealing with anxiety, bereavement and loss, depression, guilt, and shame. Louise is passionate about helping individuals work through these complex emotions and develop healthier ways of coping, moving toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. Her empathetic approach and diverse experiences enable her to offer compassionate support to those navigating difficult life circumstances.
Louise is a trainee integrative psychotherapist and a member of the UKCP, UKATA, and NCPS professional body. She works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS services, offering therapeutic support to individuals seeking to improve their emotional well-being. Louise is currently working towards an advanced diploma in integrative psychotherapy, continually enhancing her expertise to provide the best care for clients.
