Mala Kalsi is an integrative counsellor working within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service, offering accessible, ethically grounded support in a collaborative therapeutic environment. Her approach draws on humanistic and relational traditions, informed by contemporary psychological understanding and a deep respect for the therapeutic relationship. She offers a compassionate, reflective space where clients are invited to explore their thoughts, emotions and lived experiences in way that feels safe, collaborative and respectful. She understands therapy as space where individuals can slow down, reflect and begin to make sense of both their inner world and challenges they face in daily life, supported by a relationship built on trust, care and respect.
Her work is routed in humanistic values, honouring each client’s unique experience and proceeding at a pace that feels right for them. She works in a way that honors autonomy, emotional safety and personal meaning, while gently supporting clients to develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience and clarity. Mala has a particular interest in supporting people suffering anxiety, depression, stress, emotional difficulty and life transitions. She welcomes client who may feel stuck, uncertain, overwhelmed or in need of a non-judgmental and supportive space. She speaks English and Hindi and works with sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and life contexts that shape each person’s emotional world, recognizing the influence of culture, family and environment without allowing these to define the individual.
Mala holds MA in Psychology and is currently completing Diploma in Integrative Counselling with The Awareness Centre Training School. She is a Student Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is committed to working within its ethical framework, supported by regular supervision and ongoing professional development.
