Maria Malafeeva
Maria Malafeeva is an integrative counsellor and a member of the BACP. She works within the Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Clapham and is currently working towards an advanced diploma in Integrative Counselling.
Maria works gently and relationally, helping you reconnect with your inner voice, body and emotional experience at a pace that feels safe. Her approach is warm, attuned and non-judgemental. She integrates person-centred therapy with somatic awareness and psychodynamic insights. Maria listens carefully, reflects thoughtfully and supports you in exploring feelings, patterns and internal conflicts. She offers a calm, steady and compassionate presence, creating a space where you can feel met and understood. This can help strengthen inner safety and self-worth, begin to hear yourself more clearly. Her approach is tailored to each individual client.
With a background in business, Maria understands how stress, responsibilities and transitions can affect emotional wellbeing. Having lived in several countries, she appreciates diverse cultures, values and identities and understands how it feels to navigate change and belonging. She has also provided online counselling support for Russian-speaking clients.
Maria can help those struggling with stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, loss, relational patterns and life transitions. She is also attuned to people who experience high sensitivity or who feel easily overwhelmed. She works gently and steadily, helping people to understand themselves better and find their way forward.
