Marlene Bartel
Marlene Bartel’s integrative approach draws on a range of therapeutic models to meet the unique needs of each client. She is particularly informed by person-centred theory, which emphasises the client’s innate capacity for growth, and attachment theory, which explores how early relationships shape emotional patterns. With a collaborative and empathic style, Marlene works with clients to deepen self-awareness, process difficult emotions, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. She fosters a space where clients can explore, challenge, and make sense of their experience at their own pace. For Marlene, therapy is more than applying techniques or theories – it is about engaging with authenticity, depth, and a genuine commitment to the client’s well-being. She believes that meaningful therapeutic work requires presence, emotional investment, and a willingness to meet the client where they are, with openness and curiosity.
Having spent over two decades living and working in London, Marlene brings a culturally aware and sensitive perspective to her practice. Her personal experience of political transitions in her home country and adapting to a new cultural environment has given her insight into how societal shifts influence individual identity and emotional well-being. Her work in niche markets and volunteer roles has strengthened her ability to listen deeply, respond empathically, and adapt to diverse interpersonal dynamics. These experiences have reinforced her commitment to supporting clients through life’s complexities.
Marlene is a trainee integrative counsellor working towards a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in London. She is a student member of the BACP. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, which informs her reflective and holistic approach to understanding human experience. Currently volunteering for charity, she is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive space for client’s to explore their experiences.
