Michelle Harrison-Lee - Clinical Supervisor

Michelle Harrison-Lee is a highly experienced Integrative Psychotherapist, Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist, and Clinical Supervisor with more than 20 years of hands-on clinical practice. Over the course of her career, she has worked with a diverse range of clients across different settings, which has given her both breadth and depth of understanding. This extensive experience allows her to bring not only strong theoretical knowledge, but also grounded, practical insight into every aspect of her work. She understands the realities of clinical practice and the nuanced challenges that therapists encounter at different stages of their professional journey.

In her supervision practice, Michelle primarily draws on the Double Matrix model, also known as the 7-Eyed Model, developed by Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet (2006), alongside Stoltenberg’s Integrative Developmental Model (1981). These frameworks provide a comprehensive and structured lens through which to view supervision. The Double Matrix model encourages exploration from multiple perspectives, including the client, the therapist, the therapeutic relationship, the supervisory relationship, and the wider systemic context. Stoltenberg’s developmental approach, meanwhile, ensures that supervision is appropriately attuned to the supervisee’s level of experience, confidence, and professional growth. By integrating these models, Michelle offers supervision that is reflective, structured, and responsive to individual needs.

In 2021, Michelle completed additional specialist training in Advanced Clinical Supervision for Online and Telephone Counselling. This was undertaken to ensure that her practice remains fully aligned with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, 2018), particularly with regard to confidentiality, ethical standards, and data protection in remote working environments. Her commitment to ongoing professional development reflects her dedication to maintaining high standards of clinical governance and best practice. Above all, Michelle is committed to cultivating a supportive and collaborative supervisory environment. She creates a space where supervisees feel safe to explore their thoughts, feelings, and uncertainties without fear of judgement. She encourages thoughtful reflective practice, and learning through experience, including learning from mistakes. Her approach fosters openness, curiosity, and professional confidence, supporting supervisees to develop both competence and authenticity in their clinical work.
