Oleksandra Bryhynets is a trainee integrative counsellor studying towards a Diploma in Integrative Counselling at The Awareness Centre and practicing with NHS Talking Therapies in Wandsworth. She is a BACP registered student member, holds a Master’s degree in Psychology, and is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Oleksandra works with clients experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, work-related stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Her integrative approach enables her to tailor therapy to each individual’s needs, drawing on a range of therapeutic models to provide a flexible and responsive approach. She is committed to offering a confidential, supportive, and empathetic space where clients from diverse backgrounds feel respected, understood, and able to explore the challenges they are facing.

Oleksandra’s approach is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centred, recognising that every person’s experiences and goals are unique. She believes that a strong therapeutic relationship provides the foundation for meaningful change and works alongside clients to help them better understand themselves, develop resilience, and move towards the life they want to lead. Drawing on solution-focused principles, she supports clients in identifying strengths and setting realistic, achievable goals, particularly within the context of brief therapy. She also incorporates Gestalt techniques to help clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and present-moment experiences, while her person-centred approach emphasises empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. By integrating these approaches, Oleksandra helps clients build confidence, increase self-acceptance, and develop trust in their own capacity for growth and change.

Before training as a counsellor, Oleksandra worked in demanding business environments, giving her valuable insight into the pressures of high-performance workplaces and the impact that prolonged stress can have on emotional wellbeing. Alongside her professional experience, her own journey of immigration has given her a personal understanding of the challenges associated with adapting to change, navigating different cultures, and rebuilding a sense of identity and belonging. She has a particular interest in supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, workplace stress, relationship difficulties, and significant life transitions. Fluent in English, Russian, and Ukrainian, Oleksandra is able to offer counselling in all three languages, helping make therapy more accessible for clients who feel most comfortable expressing themselves in their native language. She brings warmth, cultural sensitivity, and genuine curiosity to her work, creating a space where clients can explore their experiences with confidence and hope.
