Paul Twite
By providing a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to talk, express their feelings and explore options, Paul Twite believes everyone can heal and grow. Sometimes, this will mean focusing on immediate emotions and coping strategies. Occasionally, it may involve talking through how things from the past are affecting the client in the present day. Paul’s integrative approach is shaped by academic training across psychodynamic and humanistic approaches, and real-world experience supporting others. Paul believes in a collaborative approach, fostering insight, emotional awareness, and meaningful change and is comfortable exploring issues that are leading to anxiety and stress. Paul’s intention in every session is to give clients time to talk and explore options. Over time, this will provide the space for the client to learn about themselves and ultimately become their own counsellor.
With an extensive background in leading large teams in workplaces across the UK, Europe and Asia, he has helped people from diverse backgrounds and cultures navigate change, build resilience and achieve personal growth. As a result, Paul is comfortable collaborating with clients to work through workplace issues and life transitions. This workplace experience, combined with a recent role as a listening volunteer and ongoing postgraduate studies, has deepened Paul’s desire to offer a compassionate, structured and reflective space for clients.
Paul is a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Paul is an integrative counsellor within The Awareness Centre’s NHS Counselling Service Wandsworth and is working towards a postgraduate diploma in counselling.
