Rachel Thomas
Rachel Thomas provides a warm, welcoming and non-judgmental space where clients can feel truly heard and supported. Her client led approach is rooted in the belief that as individuals, we have the inner capacity for growth and positive personal change, particularly within the safety and confidentially of a therapeutic environment. Working integratively she focuses on building a strong therapeutic relationship, which she sees as a collaborative journey between client and therapist. She uses a range of modalities, including person-centred therapy, gestalt therapy and solution-based therapy, to identify patterns in thoughts and behaviours. By offering an integrative approach to therapy Rachel hopes to meet the specific needs and goals of each individual, and to work in a meaningful and effective way.
Rachel brings a unique perspective to her counselling work, shaped by over 17 years in the hospitality industry, where she developed a deep understanding of high-pressure environments, people management, and emotional resilience. Her own lived experience of depression, anxiety, burnout, and low self-esteem during that time, led her to initially train as a Mental Health First Aider and CBT practitioner. This is where she discovered her true passion of mental health and supporting others by training as an integrative counsellor. She has a particular interest in working with LGBTQ+ clients and those who are neurodiverse, and is committed to creating an inclusive, affirming space where all identities and experiences are respected. Rachel approaches each client with genuine curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to helping them explore their challenges in ways that feel empowering.
