Sabrina Burgess
Sabrina is a warm therapist who has a non-judgemental approach towards her work. She upholds confidentiality, value’s her client’s autonomy and demonstrates congruence. Sabrina believes that Person-centred therapy can give a individual the capacity to heal and find hope in the darkest of moments, so they can grow in a way that enhances their lives and the people around them. She has a great respect for people’s well-being and health and believes we all need support at some point in our lives.
Sabrina is a Medical Theatre Manager and has worked within the healthcare field for over 20 years, she is used to extremely emotional, difficult and rewarding environment, so supporting individuals is a natural attribute. Sabrina provides support for patients and colleagues wanting to communicate their worries, stress and personal developments. Sabrina works with patients experiencing all manners of emotions, from lost, bereavement, joy, financial hardship, relationship problems and mental well-being and takes this responsibility seriously. She has a good understanding of mental health combined with a deep understanding of prejudice and discrimination and its impact on our behaviour and in Society, and how our Locus of evaluation influences us all.
Sabrina is currently working towards an advance diploma in Person-centred counselling, and thereafter will be gaining specialised accreditation towards couples, fertility, Cancer and bereavement counselling. Sabrina Burgess is a Person-centred counsellor and is registered with the BACP. She works on an open-ended basis within The Awareness Centre, NHS Lambeth.
