Shannon Wheeler is a London-based trainee psychotherapist and member of the UK Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA). Her therapeutic practice is grounded in an intersectional approach that recognises and honours the complex interplay of identity, power dynamics, and lived experiences that shape each individual’s journey. Working through the lens of Transactional Analysis, Shannon creates a collaborative and affirming therapeutic space where clients can explore their patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. She believes that understanding these patterns and analysing communication, along with the impact of social and cultural contexts, enables meaningful personal growth and healing. Her approach emphasises building authentic therapeutic relationships where clients feel truly seen and understood. Shannon is committed to providing inclusive therapy that celebrates and supports diverse identities, with particular expertise in working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community. She also has a special interest in General Anxiety Disorders.

Shannon brings a rich background in education to her therapeutic practice, having spent ten years working in diverse educational settings both internationally and in East London. Her time as a primary school teacher, working holistically with children and families from various cultural backgrounds, has deepened her understanding of how early experiences and systemic factors impact mental health and wellbeing. With this experience, she has honed her skills in creating safe, nurturing spaces where growth and self-discovery can flourish.

She is currently in her second year of working towards her Diploma in Transactional Analysis and Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) qualification. Shannon works within our NHS Counselling services within Sutton.
