Simona Ahmed
Simona Ahmed is a fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and a registered member of the BACP. She holds an MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and as such, she draws from a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Person centred, Psychodynamic and CBT modalities, tailoring her work to the individual needs of every client. This could involve exploring how past experiences have shaped your present circumstances, gaining deeper insight into current challenges and reflecting on fundamental questions of identity, meaning, and purpose. Simona focuses on working collaboratively with clients to help them build insight and self acceptance, while also supporting lasting, meaningful change.
Simona has experience working with a diverse range of clients. One of her specialist areas is bereavement and loss, developed through her work as a counsellor at a hospice bereavement service, supporting clients through grief following the death of a loved one as well as other significant losses. Simona has also worked at a women’s centre, counselling survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. In this setting she provided trauma informed support helping clients to rebuild a sense of safety and autonomy. Alongside her private practice, Simona works as a perinatal counsellor, supporting parents during pregnancy and the post-natal period with a range of issues including post-natal depression, anxiety and feelings of isolation.
In addition to her therapeutic work, Simona has fifteen years experience working in the corporate and creative industries, which has allowed her to understand the pressures of high-stress environments, work-related anxiety, burnout, and the impact of demanding professional roles on wellbeing and relationships. She also works as a counsellor within an Employee Assistance Programme supporting those who work in the creative industries.
