Sophie Bambrick is a trainee person-centred psychotherapist working within The Awareness Centre’s low-cost counselling service in Clapham. She is currently working towards a Master’s degree in person-centred psychotherapy and is a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Her approach is grounded in the core principles of person-centred therapy: empathy, authenticity and unconditional positive regard. She offers a warm, non-judgemental and collaborative space where clients are invited to explore their experiences at their own pace. Sophie believes that therapy can offer space for personal exploration and meaningful change through a relationship grounded in trust, safety and openness. Her work is client-led, supporting individuals to reconnect with their inner resources, make sense of their emotional world, and move towards greater clarity, self-acceptance and personal growth.

Having grown up in the UK and spent over a decade living in Sydney, she brings a culturally aware and inclusive approach to her therapeutic practice. She has experience working with individuals navigating stress, anxiety, trauma and depression. Her background living and working in different countries has shaped her appreciation for diverse life experiences and helped her develop an attuned, responsive and relational way of working with people from all walks of life.

Sophie is passionate about creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, heard and genuinely supported. She holds the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth and change, and that therapy can be a powerful and transformative process of self-discovery and personal development.
