Greg van Beurden is a qualified psychodynamic counsellor working within private practice at The Awareness Centre in Clapham.

If you find yourself caught in cycles of anxiety, low mood, or worn down by the pressures of work or family life, you don’t need to have the right words. Often, all that’s needed is a willingness to begin. Therapy can offer a space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what may currently feel overwhelming or hard to manage alone.

There are times when we all need extra support with our mental health—whether that’s something from the past, something happening now, or uncertainty about the future. You may be struggling with relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, persistent overthinking, or sleepless nights. These experiences are not signs of weakness, but signals that something important is asking for attention.

Making contact can feel daunting. You might be unsure what to say or what will happen in a first session. You don’t need to prepare anything. The initial meeting is simply a chance to talk, ask questions, and see whether this feels right. We’ll go at your pace, with no pressure to disclose more than feels manageable.

Greg offers a confidential, non-judgemental space where trust is built over time. He is a qualified and experienced therapeutic counsellor, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and holds a Foundation Degree in Psychodynamic Counselling (with distinction). His psychodynamic approach explores both current difficulties and longer-standing patterns, supporting meaningful change at a realistic pace
