Tia Coakley – Senior Counselling Coordinator
Tia Coakley is a Senior Counselling Coordinator at The Awareness Centre, where she brings warmth, efficiency and professionalism to her role. Often the first point of contact for clients and trainee therapists, she takes pride in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone feels safe and supported. Her calming presence and friendly approach help put people at ease, whether they are attending their first appointment, meeting their first client or returning for continued support.
Tia completed her Diploma in Integrative Counselling at The Awareness Centre and has since established her own private practice. Her integrative training allows her to adapt her approach to the unique needs of each client. Tia is currently a pluralistic psychosexual therapist in training. This learning has deepened her curiosity in exploring the complexities of human connection, gender and sexuality, and the impact of early childhood experiences on relationships in adulthood. Tia’s background in teaching and education further enhances her ability to listen deeply, communicate clearly, and connect with people from a range diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Tia is passionate about providing a non-judgmental space where people feel free to express themselves and explore their challenges. She meets individuals where they are, offering genuine care and support with compassion and understanding. Whether in her role as a Senior Counselling Coordinator or a counsellor, Tia embodies her values of openness, anti-oppressive practice, and empathy in all aspects of her work.
