Valentina Gkoulieva offers a warm, reflective, and collaborative therapeutic space in which clients are supported to explore their thoughts, emotions, and relationships safely and at their own pace. She works integratively, meaning her approach is flexible and responsive to the individual needs of each client rather than relying on a single model. Valentina is particularly attentive to communication patterns, relational dynamics, and the ways early experiences can influence present-day coping strategies. Her work is trauma-informed and grounded in empathy, consistency, and respect. She aims to help clients develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and more compassionate ways of relating to themselves and others.

Alongside her clinical training, Valentina has experience working with young people through her counselling placement in a secondary school, where she supported students experiencing emotional, behavioural, and relational difficulties. She also volunteers as a Youth Justice Panel member, which has deepened her understanding of family systems, accountability, and the wider social contexts that affect mental health and behaviour. These roles have shaped her interest and experience in working with family issues, communication difficulties, trauma, and personality-related patterns. Valentina is fluent in English, Greek, and Russian, and is able to work sensitively with clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Valentina is an integrative counsellor working within the NHS Counselling Service Lambeth. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Psychology, and is a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Valentina is currently in professional counselling training and working towards qualification in integrative counselling.  Her academic background provides a strong foundation in psychological theory, development, and emotional wellbeing across the lifespan.
