Victoria Kenrick
Victoria Kenrick is a trainee psychotherapist. She is a student member with BACP and UKCP and adheres to their ethical framework and professional practice. She works within The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling service in Clapham. Victoria has Levels 2 and 3 in Counselling Studies and is working towards an MSc in Person-Centred Psychotherapy.
Victoria offers an environment which is safe, non-judgemental, empathetic and transparent. She works with a person-centred approach which believes that a person is inherently driven towards growth and, given the right conditions, can reach their full potential and become their true self. Starting therapy can seem a daunting prospect but Victoria will work with you in a trusting therapeutic relationship, at your own pace, to help you process and understand better what you are feeling. We all see the world in our own unique way and Victoria will value your individuality and respond to your unique needs. Many things bring us to therapy, it maybe something specific or a feeling of ‘I don’t know what’s going on with me’. Victoria will help you explore areas of your life, of yourself and your experiences to enable you to become more self aware, less defensive, more open to every experience life has to offer and with a feeling of greater self confidence and independence.
Victoria has a background of working in the advertising industry and understands the stress and pressures of working in large companies. She also worked as a personal trainer and has a keen interest in the power of physical health on our mental health. She has experience of working with anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma, sudden change in life and life’s transitions, challenging family dynamics, understanding unhelpful patterns of behaviour, disability, body image issues, OCD and ADHD
