Anna Bampou

Anna Bampou – Lead Diploma Tutor

Anna Bampou is the Lead Tutor on the Diploma in Clinical Supervision. She is a qualified, experienced and BACP accredited counsellor for children, young people and adults, a clinical supervisor for counsellors and allied health professionals and an academic tutor for trainee counsellors. She has worked for 25 years in the public and private sectors. She is currently in private practice with clients, and as a supervisor, she works 1:1 and with groups in private practice and the charitable sector.

Anna’s counselling approach is relational and emergent, based on Clarkson’s 5 relationships model. Her counselling philosophy is that no single theory or technique can fully embrace the uniqueness and complexity of human experience. Instead, the creative space between herself and the client informs each therapeutic relationship. This space acts as the consistent, overarching, and authentic facilitative agent for the ever-present and evolving potential for healing and growth that exists within all.  As a supervisor, she strives to offer clinically reflective, supportive, and challenging guidance. Her approach is integrative and relational, drawing from Inskipp and Proctor, Clarkson, Hawkins and Shohet, and Stoltenberg and McNeill.

Anna strives to provide a supportive, collaborative and informative environment. She values curiosity and kindness while helping students achieve personal and professional development and ethical competency.  She also lectures in counselling and is a trustee for a local mental health charity organisation.
