Gareth Sammer - Tutor
Gareth Sammer is a Transactional Analysis Psychotherapist and Psychotherapeutic Counsellor who has worked in private practice since 2012. He has had experience working with several therapeutic organisations as well as providing TA Counselling and Psychotherapy training to groups and running his own workshops on setting up successful private therapy practices. He is a registered member of the UKCP and an accredited member of the NCPS.
Having a history of over twenty years volunteering with St. John Ambulance, Gareth has always been dedicated to helping those in need. As part of his work with this volunteer first aid organisation, Gareth also found his love of teaching and training, imparting knowledge, skills and experience to those who were looking to learn something important.
In his training sessions, Gareth loves to bring a mix of theory, client vignettes and practical demonstrations to help really bring the theory to life. He likes to engage the students on many different levels, including their experiences, thoughts and feelings around the subject matter, along with group and triad work to embed their understanding of the theory. He describes himself as patient, calm, thoughtful, empathic and having the ability to look at complex topics from different perspectives to help understand people’s situations and struggles. He sees these traits as important in both the therapy room as well as the classroom.
