Joanne White

Joanne White - Course Supervisor

Joanne White is a Course Supervisor for the Diploma in Integrative Counselling course.  Joanne is an integrative counsellor and qualified Supervisor with a BA (Hons) in Counselling.  Joanne’s additional training in EMDR and Attachment-Informed EMDR informs a trauma-aware and gently attuned approach to both therapy and supervision.

Supervision, for Joanne, is about the relationship.  Joanne believes counsellors grow best in spaces where they feel safe enough to think, question, reflect and sometimes not know. Joanne supports both counsellors in training and qualified practitioners across academic and clinical contexts, walking alongside them as they develop confidence, clarity and trust in their own therapeutic voice.

As a Course Supervisor, Joanne enjoys helping trainees connect theory with lived experience, strengthening their professional identity as it begins to take shape. As a Clinical Supervisor, Joanne offers a containing and thoughtful space to explore client work, complexity and emotional impact with care and integrity.

Alongside supervision, Joanne manages a counselling service within a hospice setting and continue to work in private practice. Working within palliative care and bereavement keeps Joanne closely connected to the depth and vulnerability of our profession, and this informs the compassion and steadiness Joanne brings to supervision.

Joanne particularly values honesty, curiosity and kindness in the supervisory relationship. Joanne feels it is a privilege to witness counsellors move from uncertainty to grounded, authentic and confident practice.
