Shereen Alexander – Lead Foundation Tutor

Shereen Alexander is a Lead Tutor for the Foundation Certificate in Counselling. She comes with a background as a Head of Department and Head of Year in secondary schools, and was a former member of the Teach for America programme, bridging the education gap and supporting some of the most disenfranchised youth of inner-city America.

Shereen believes teaching should be engaging and experiential rather than passive. She is an acutely skilled group facilitator, having run in-patient workshops and group therapy, and has been an invited guest on podcasts and therapeutic platforms, speaking on assertiveness and overcoming adversity. Shereen brings a breadth of experience,  from the classroom to the therapy room, into her teaching, combining clinical leadership, education and frontline mental health work.

She is UKCP accredited and MBACP registered, working as an integrative psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner with over 10 years in practice. She is currently a Senior Psychotherapist at the Roehampton Priory, and has previously held roles as Clinical Lead of the Addiction Treatment Programme and CAMHS services at the Priory. Shereen also held the NHS Clinical Lead role at TAC for several years supporting placement therapists in their training.
