Management of a team of employed therapists and placement therapists, in the delivery of the NHS Sutton and Wandsworth Contracts to meet all KPI’s, budgets and objective. Responsibility within the clinical team in supporting the NHS Counselling Manager and working closely with the counselling coordinators to ensure NHS placement recruitment needs and training meet contract targets.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Management
- Responsible for line managing the employed therapists working within NHS Sutton and Wandsworth Talking Therapies service, inclusive of monthly individual and team meetings; ensuring contract objectives, client caseloads, operational or therapist issues and procedures are being managed effectively in a mentoring approach.
- Responsible for meeting contract KPIs, budgets and objectives within the NHS Sutton and Wandsworth counselling services and meeting all deadlines.
- Responsible for liaising with stakeholders within NHS Sutton and Wandsworth and developing professional working relationships.
- Accountable for ensuring monthly delivery of all NHS audit and reports with analysis, ensuring such reports are completed on time by either yourself or team for performance reporting and evaluation.
- Accountable for student therapist on placement training.
- Responsible for working with the Counselling Coordinators to ensure placement recruitment levels, training and therapist level upgrades meet target objectives on a monthly basis.
- Accountable in working with the team to ensure smooth and efficient transition for placement therapists from online to F2F work, and vice versa as required.
- Accountable for client enquiries and complaints; including finding solutions for problems in relation to the Sutton and Wandsworth and/or NHS department.
- Accountable for attending monthly clinical meetings as scheduled; and line management meeting with the Head of Counselling.
- Accountable to work with the extended team to look at strategy and limitations of all / any NHS services as required, including supporting new business opportunities.
- Accountable for being the first point of contact for all NHS Sutton and Wandsworth liaison.
- Accountable for the NHS Sutton and Wandsworth Team by reviewing their weekly updates, therapist audits, and all up to date clinical /IAPTus handbooks or manuals; ensuring these are updated monthly to the intranet.
- Responsible for working with NHS Counselling Manager and HR to support any team recruitment, training, on-boarding with performance management, mentoring, monthly reviews and updating objectives.
- Accountable for operational support for risk and safeguarding issues; working with the NHS Counselling Manager, Supervisors and therapists.
- Responsible for a case load of 4 clients per week.
Administration
- Accountable for ensuring all editing of NHS Handbooks and Manuals is updated by team.
- Responsible for running weekly and monthly reports and analysing with the senior clinical team to meet KPIs and budgets.
- Responsible for approving, facilitating NHS Sutton and Wandsworth employed therapists holidays and absences.
- Accountable for department costs against budget.
- Accountable for supporting the NHS Counselling Manager in the approval and cover of supervisor holidays.
- Accountable to make sure all NHS clinical policies, procedures and processes are reviewed and updated alongside the NHS Counselling Manager to support the NHS team/s.
- Day to day management of emails and responding in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:
- Minimum 2 years post qualification and either accredited or working towards becoming an accredited counsellor, counselling psychologist and/or psychotherapists (UKCP, BACP).
- Previous working experience within a contracted counselling provision.
- Previous experience of working with IAPTus, the online platform for NHS Taking Therapies.
- Previous experience of working in a commercial liaison role.
- Ability to work under pressure with good time management.
- Excellent organisation skills, prioritisation skills, ability to multitask and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; with logical thinking.
- Professionalism and a collaborative, mentoring approach to working.
- High proficiency in Excel, Word, email and knowledge of using databases, including CRM.
