Alina Maria Badescu
Alina Badescu works in an integrative way, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailoring her work to each client’s needs. She offers a warm, collaborative space where clients can explore challenges openly and without judgment.
Her practice draws on Person-Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, and Psychodynamic theories. In Gestalt work she helps clients connect with thoughts, feelings, and bodily experience as an organised whole—more than the sum of its parts—and to safely explore difficult emotions before they escalate. From a Transactional Analysis perspective, she supports clients in recognising recurring roles and patterns of interaction, so they can see how these shape current relationships and choices.
Central to Alina’s work is the therapeutic relationship. She places great importance on trust, clear boundaries, and safety. When clients feel heard and understood, it becomes possible to reflect on how early family dynamics and relational experiences have shaped their sense of self. Together, Alina and her clients explore attachment styles, patterns of behaviour, and new ways of relating. This process fosters greater self-awareness, healthier boundaries, and more fulfilling relationships, alongside practical coping strategies to manage day-to-day emotional overwhelm.
Alina has experience in NHS talking-therapy services and counselling organisations, supporting people with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. She works relationally and authentically, bringing compassion, attentiveness, and approachability to her sessions.
Alina is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is working towards accreditation. She currently sees clients face-to-face on Friday evenings, with online appointments also available.
