Qiuxue Gu (Bella) is an integrative counsellor who works with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, low mood, stress, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, loss, identity concerns, and significant life transitions. She has a particular interest in supporting clients who have experienced relational trauma, long-term emotional neglect, or who are navigating neurodiverse experiences within themselves or their families. Bella is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and works at the NHS Talking Therapy in Wandsworth through The Awareness Centre. Her practice is grounded in an integrative framework, drawing primarily on Person-Centred and Gestalt approaches, while incorporating Solution-Focused and psychodynamic perspectives. She believes that meaningful therapeutic change occurs within a safe, respectful and collaborative therapeutic relationship, where clients can explore their experiences without judgement and develop a deeper understanding of themselves.

Bella offers a warm, compassionate and client-centred approach, tailoring her work to the individual needs, experiences and goals of each client. She places significant importance on the therapeutic relationship, viewing it as the foundation for growth, healing and lasting change. Working collaboratively, she helps clients develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation and insight into their internal experiences. Her integrative approach supports clients in recognising patterns within their thoughts, emotions and relationships, while gently exploring how earlier life experiences may continue to influence present difficulties. Bella pays close attention to both verbal and non-verbal communication and values embodied awareness as an important part of the therapeutic process, helping clients connect more fully with their emotional experiences. Her approach is gentle, grounded and relational, focusing not on fixing problems but on supporting clients to reconnect with their own strengths, resilience and capacity for change.

Bella works with sensitivity to culture, identity and individual life circumstances, recognising the importance of understanding each person within the context of their unique experiences and relationships. She is particularly interested in supporting individuals who have experienced relational trauma, attachment difficulties and emotional neglect, helping them strengthen internal and external boundaries, rebuild trust in themselves and develop a greater sense of agency. Her work is informed by an appreciation of the ways in which past experiences can shape present emotional and relational patterns. Through a confidential and non-judgemental therapeutic space, Bella aims to help clients feel heard, understood and empowered, supporting them to navigate challenges with greater confidence and move towards a more balanced, fulfilling and meaningful life.
