Gamze Sen is an integrative counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She currently works within the Lambeth Talking Therapies team, supporting adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. Alongside her clinical work, she is in the final year of training towards a Diploma in Integrative Counselling at The Awareness Centre. Her integrative approach enables her to draw on a range of evidence-based therapeutic models, including person-centred, humanistic and cognitive behavioural approaches, tailoring therapy to meet each client’s unique needs, circumstances and goals. Gamze’s practice is trauma-informed and grounded in the belief that every individual deserves a therapeutic experience that respects their values, strengths and personal journey. She has experience supporting clients presenting with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, stress, guilt and shame, as well as more complex experiences relating to trauma and abuse.

Gamze believes that meaningful therapeutic change begins with a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship. She offers a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences at a pace that feels right for them. Her work is rooted in empathy, authenticity and collaboration, recognising that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. Drawing on experiential interventions, mindfulness, breathwork and elements of cognitive behavioural therapy, she supports clients in developing greater self-awareness and emotional resilience. Gamze is particularly interested in helping clients understand how past experiences, relational patterns and coping strategies may continue to influence their present lives. By encouraging deeper awareness of emotions, physical sensations and interpersonal dynamics, she helps clients build healthier relationships with themselves and others. She is also able to offer therapy in Turkish, providing an additional opportunity for clients to work in a language in which they feel most comfortable expressing themselves.

Before becoming a counsellor, Gamze built a successful career in Law and worked in demanding, high-pressure environments where performance, responsibility and resilience were central. This experience gives her a strong understanding of the pressures many people face in their professional and personal lives and how these can impact emotional wellbeing. She has also worked with major UK and international charities, including projects in conflict-affected regions, which has strengthened her appreciation of cultural diversity and the complex challenges individuals may encounter. Gamze has particular experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, trafficking and modern slavery, and works sensitively with clients from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds. Her approach focuses on helping clients recognise their strengths, develop healthier ways of managing stress and emotions, and move towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.
