Bev Boyd
Bev is an experienced humanistic counsellor working short or long term with adults and younger children. She is a registered member of the BACP and has a private practice at the Awareness Centre in Clapham. She works with people facing common life issues such as anxiety, relationships, loss or career change.
Working in a person-centred style, she will offer you the space to share what you wish while supporting you to trust yourself and your own process of growth. As a humanistic therapist Bev will trust that you have within you what you need to both survive and thrive. She will help you notice old patterns which may be hindering you and identify your inner resources for change and resilience.
This may mean she will invite you to notice habits in the way you phrase things or what may be trying to emerge through your dreams as well as what may emerge in the here-and-now moment of the therapy room. Bev sees the therapist’s role as one of supportively holding up a mirror so that you may enhance your self awareness and develop greater capacity to make the choices which are right for you. If you’re into the theory of therapy, you may like to know she draws on the fields of gestalt and psychodynamic practice. However, with her over-arching person centred ethos, Bev sees the therapeutic relationship as the key vehicle for change.
Bev has over 20 years’ experience of work with adults, children and teenagers and can also work using the creative arts.
