Capucine Korenberg, PhD, is a person-centred psychotherapist with a background in science, working in private practice at The Awareness Centre in Tooting.  She believes that everyone deserves to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin, and she’s passionate about empowering those who feel like they don’t “fit in” or worry about being “different” to discover their unique strengths and create fulfilling lives.  Capucine views the journey of self-discovery as a valuable and important process, one to be cherished and approached with curiosity and compassion.

Drawing on her 25+ years of experience as a scientific researcher, Capucine brings a unique perspective to her counselling practice. She integrates evidence-based approaches with the core principles of person-centred psychotherapy, creating a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their inner world.  This blend of scientific rigour and humanistic understanding allows her to tailor her approach to the individual needs of each client.

Capucine is experienced in supporting individuals navigating a range of challenges, including low self-esteem, loneliness, anxiety, difficulties with emotion regulation, and challenges in interpersonal relationships. She has a particular interest in supporting neurodiverse individuals, recognising the unique strengths and challenges they may face.  She also offers support to clients facing the complexities of parenting, understanding the pain and isolation that can sometimes accompany this role.

Capucine works with individuals on both a short or longer-term basis, providing a skilled and compassionate approach to listening and understanding. She helps clients shed light on the root of their difficulties, supporting them as they work through painful life events and challenging situations, such as bereavement, relationship breakdowns or work-related stress. She also works with those experiencing more general feelings of unhappiness or distress, offering a confidential space to explore and understand the underlying issues. Whether you’re struggling with specific issues or simply seeking greater self-understanding, Capucine provides a non-judgmental and empathetic environment for growth and healing.

Capucine is training as a person-centred psychotherapist and is a trainee member of the UKCP. She holds a Certificate in Therapeutic Skills from the Metanoia Institute and is working towards a Diploma in Contemporary Person-Centred Psychotherapy.
