Caroline Oliver
Caroline Oliver has achieved a Level 5 Foundation Degree in Psychodynamic Counselling with distinction and holds a BA (Hons) in Counselling, working in private practice at The Awareness Centre in Clapham. She is a registered member of the BACP and adheres to its ethical framework as part of her practice.
Caroline provides a supportive, warm and confidential safe and calm space. She understands how stressful and uncomfortable it can be for some people entering into personal therapy. Her areas of interest include working with depression and anxiety and self-esteem issues together with eating disorders and communication issues. Caroline also has experience of working with clients who are neurodivergent or present within the autism spectrum or who have ADHD. Caroline works using a Psychodynamic modality, which enables her to identify and understand attachment styles and patterns of thoughts and behaviour in each individual client. She uses this approach to enable her clients to develop a greater understanding of self-awareness and resilience, helping them reach their full potential.
Caroline comes from a background of working in business, in administrational and operational roles living and working in London and New York. She has worked predominantly within management consulting, publishing and legal sectors. This has provided her with an understanding of workplace issues including, experiences of pressure, identifying conflict and managing emotions and stress.
She has had experience of working with long-term clients as part of the Low-Cost service at The Awareness Centre in Clapham. Caroline has also recently undertaken a new role as a college tutor, lecturing in counselling skills and theory. Interests in her spare time include an enjoyment and appreciation of art and music and spending time with her family and friends.
