Delia Edwards-Julien - NHS Senior Team Leader, Wandsworth & Sutton
Delia Edwards-Julien is a Senior Team Leader for NHS Wandsworth and Sutton Talking Therapies within The Awareness Centre. Her role includes holding a weekly caseload of clients, supporting therapists, and coordinating aspects of the operational functions within the NHS service provision.
Delia is a qualified counsellor, clinical supervisor, coach and tutor with over 19 years’ experience in the mental health field. She brings previous senior management and operational experience from the public, private, and charitable sector. Her line management of teams gave her a clear understanding of how poor mental wellbeing can negatively impact an employee’s work performance and their ability to function in their personal lives. This experience prompted her to train as a therapist in 2002.
As a dedicated integrative therapist, Delia focuses on the needs of each client, facilitating and promoting their autonomy and enabling them to make the best choices for their lives. Delia is a qualified integrative counsellor and an Accredited Registrant of the NCPS.
These sessions have dramatically changed my outlook and questioned my perspectives on life. They have guided me to reconnect to a sense of purpose, to unpack all of the complexities I could not make sense of. Minoo has so eloquently supported me on a journey to unlock and give myself permission to process my grief. To look into those darker corners with strength and pride. To take on new opportunities by believing in myself again. I am so grateful that I was given this service, to support my mental health at such a rocky and devastating time. Thank you Minoo for all of your time, energy and awareness, I will forever hold onto the newfound reflections these sessions have provided for my current and future self.
I started this process with very little self-esteem or even like for myself. Minoo helped me be more understanding of myself and even start to like myself. Without this help I would inevitably still be in a terrible place.
I was sceptical on how effective therapy would be but seeing as my life was a total mess with me having no joy, no hope and no clue on how to deal with it I thought I may as well give it a go. I’m extremely happy I did. On 28th of September, which was the day before my first session, I was as low as could have possibly got – I didn’t want to socialise, I didn’t want to go to work, I didn’t want have any contact with anyone to the point where I had hardly been outside the house for the best part of a year! With Minoo’s help however, my life has changed dramatically. She managed to get me to ask questions of myself – questions I would never have even thought about without her assistance – and I now feel empowered enough to make drastic changes. Now I’m not going to say that my life is now perfect and there is quite a way to go but for the first time in a long time (and by long I mean at least 6 years) I feel like I have the ability and the strength to change things around. Like I said at the beginning, I was sceptical on how effective Therapy would be but after the sessions I’ve had with Minoo for the last 3 months I would recommend it (and have been) to anyone who is struggling with there mental health as she has really helped my to turn things around!Thank you Minoo – you really have helped me more that I can put into words!
