Edinson Zapata Castrillon
Edinson Zapata Castrillon is an experienced counsellor who works with adults, offering a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space in which clients can explore emotional, psychological, and relational difficulties. His clinical experience includes supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, trauma, bereavement, and loss, as well as difficulties related to identity and complex interpersonal relationships. He works with clients navigating significant life transitions, work-related pressures, and long-standing emotional patterns that impact their wellbeing. Edinson’s practice is grounded in a strong ethical framework, supported by ongoing clinical supervision and a commitment to continuous professional development.
Edinson has significant experience working with individuals who have experienced sexual abuse, both in childhood and adulthood. He works sensitively and respectfully with the long-term emotional, psychological, and relational impact of these experiences. His approach is trauma-informed and paced according to the client’s readiness, prioritising safety, empowerment, and collaboration throughout the therapeutic process. He aims to create a therapeutic environment in which clients feel heard, validated, and supported, enabling them to develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience over time.
Edinson also has experience working with addiction and addictive behaviours, including alcohol and drug misuse, as well as co-dependency. His work may involve supporting clients experiencing difficulties related to food, gambling, internet use, sex, smoking, and work addiction. He understands addiction within a broader emotional and relational context, recognising its links with trauma, attachment patterns, shame, and self-worth. Edinson offers a compassionate, thoughtful, and professional therapeutic service, working collaboratively with clients to build insight, strengthen internal resources, and move towards greater emotional stability and meaningful change.
