Evelina Kabala is a trainee integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, currently working towards an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy. She is a registered student member of the BACP. Ewelina works within The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling service in Clapham.

She provides a non-judgmental and supportive environment, for clients to process and explore difficult or painful thoughts and feelings. Evelina’s aim is to provide a safe space where you can feel supported as you explore what has been happening to you and where you might go from there. Establishing a safe, supportive, and trusting relationship is at the core of her work, which enables her clients to express their concerns and attain personal growth through the process of self-acceptance. She works to support her clients to confront their pains, discomforts, and emotions. Her approach is integrative which means using different elements from a variety of approaches to tailor the work to the client’s need.

Evelina has a background working for media organizations, due to her interest in social affairs, inequalities and working with difficult human experiences. Additionally, she has experience as a volunteer at a mental health charity in London, supporting people suffering emotional pain, experiencing challenging times and suicidal thoughts. She also worked with NHS patients at Lambeth Talking Therapies through The Awareness Centre. Her professional interests and experience led her to understand the connection between the past and present and how trauma, abuse and neglect can have long lasting effects on people’s behaviours and their mental as well as physical health. Evelina has experience working with challenging life events and complex family dynamics.

She strongly believes creating a safe and attuned space can assists clients to be able to address their difficulties. She works alongside clients, looking closely at past experiences as well as personality traits, in order to help clients find a more harmonious self.
