Izzi Norrington
Izzi Norrington’s therapeutic approach centres on collaboration and empathy, with close attention to each client’s pace and needs. Izzi is committed to creating a counselling environment that feels inclusive and affirming. This helps to create a safe space for clients to pause, reflect and notice what might be unfolding beneath their immediate experiences. In this way, Izzi can help clients to notice thoughts or feelings that are easy to miss in everyday life.
With a background of training in both humanistic and psychodynamic counselling, Izzi is focused on meeting clients wherever they might be on their journey. Izzi has studied the philosophy of cognition and psychotherapy to postgraduate level, creating an informed understanding of how identity develops through both inner processes and external experiences.
Izzi is studying a diploma in integrative counselling. Through clinical practice with clients at an NHS GP surgery in Lambeth and an LGBTQIA+ specialist charity, Izzi has experienced working with a wide range of individuals from many different backgrounds, identities and life situations. Izzi works with with clients on themes of gender and sexuality, neurodiversity and relationship patterns. With specialist training in bereavement counselling from the UK’s leading bereavement support charity, Izzi also supports clients in finding meaning after loss.
