Louise Callam is a trainee counsellor and a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She is currently working towards an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling at The Awareness Centre and works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS Counselling Service in Sutton. Louise is developing her clinical experience by supporting clients with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. Her integrative training enables her to draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches, tailoring her work to meet the individual needs and goals of each client while offering a compassionate and professional therapeutic service.

Louise provides an empathetic and supportive space where clients can express themselves openly and use the counselling relationship to explore and process the difficulties they may be facing. She works collaboratively with clients to help them identify their own strengths and resources, process difficult emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, and move towards feeling calmer and more able to manage life’s challenges. Louise believes that therapy offers an opportunity for greater self-awareness and personal growth, and she aims to create a safe, non-judgemental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and supported throughout their therapeutic journey.

Before training as a counsellor, Louise worked as a solicitor in the corporate sector, giving her first-hand insight into the pressures of professional life and the impact these can have on emotional wellbeing. This experience has developed her particular interest in supporting clients experiencing overwhelm, stress, burnout, and workplace relationship difficulties. Louise understands how internal and external pressures can contribute to unhelpful coping strategies and a loss of identity, and she works alongside clients to help them regain balance and reconnect with themselves. With a keen interest in travel and other cultures, she brings an open-minded, respectful, and culturally sensitive perspective to her therapeutic work, creating an inclusive space where clients from diverse backgrounds feel welcomed and understood.
