Laura Palumbo is a qualified therapist and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), practising to high professional and ethical standards. She holds a Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Counselling and works in private practice at The Awareness Centre.

Laura aims to offer a calm, respectful and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences at their own pace. She works collaboratively, drawing on a blend of therapeutic approaches to suit each person’s unique needs. A psychodynamic approach may be used to explore how past experiences shape the present, influencing the way clients relate to themselves and others, helping to create insight and the potential for growth and change. She can also bring in approaches such as CBT or mindfulness to address challenges like anxiety, low mood, or unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, and draws on ideas from Internal Family Systems (parts work) to support self-awareness and inner balance.

Guided by current research, Laura works in a client-led way, with regular opportunities to reflect on how therapy is progressing. She helps clients identify goals or areas of focus, which may be clear from the beginning or emerge naturally over time. Her work is grounded in empathy, curiosity and respect. Laura has experience working in agency counselling settings alongside her private practice, supporting adults with relationship difficulties, abuse, identity, life transitions, anxiety and depression. Her background in health and wellbeing contributes to her integrative approach to therapy.
