Lola Olaleye
Lola Olaleye brings a calm and thoughtful presence to the therapeutic relationship, creating a non-judgemental and confidential space where patients feel seen, heard and supported. Her integrative approach is grounded in person-centred therapy, which values each person’s natural ability to grow and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. She works collaboratively with each patient, meeting them where they are emotionally and adjusting the pace and focus of sessions to suit their unique needs. Drawing from techniques in Solution-Focused Therapy and Gestalt, she helps clients recognise their strengths, set realistic goals and become more aware of their thoughts, feelings and emotions. This flexible and responsive approach allows her to tailor therapy to each person’s individual needs.
Before training as a counsellor, Lola spent over 20 years as a self-employed IT consultant, working closely with adults across various industries to understand complex business needs and communicate effectively at all levels. This experience deepened her insight into adult challenges, including workplace stress, interpersonal difficulties, and cultural dynamics. She now draws on these skills to support clients with work-related issues, relationship challenges and emotional wellbeing. In addition, she has volunteered as a well-being mentor for teenagers and provided emotional support to elderly clients through Age UK. These roles have strengthened her ability to support individuals facing anxiety, isolation and loneliness, low self-esteem, anger management difficulties, and major life transitions. Her combined professional and voluntary experiences demonstrate her empathetic approach to supporting adults in managing anxiety, work-related stress, and emotional challenges, providing a safe space for clients to explore and address their emotional concerns.
Lola is a trainee counsellor working within NHS Lambeth counselling service. She is currently working towards a Level 5 Diploma in Integrative Counselling and is a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
