Lucy provides a confidential, genuine, empathic and non-judgemental space to develop a trusting relationship with her clients. She believes trust is the foundation for building a safe and therapeutic relationship where her clients can feel able to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Placing her client at the centre of her work, Lucy looks to help them determine their goals for the therapy, as well as supporting them through their personal journey of greater self-awareness and positive change. She believes that every client is a privilege to work with and is unique with their own experiences, feelings, and behaviours. Lucy takes on an integrative approach to tailor her skills towards the needs of the client.
Lucy has gained a real understanding of the pressures, challenges and struggles many of us face at work from her many years spent in the corporate world. She understands the negative impact this can have on mental health, creating the need to find balance, meaning and contentment in everyday life. This new understanding was a key factor behind her decision to retrain as a counsellor and help others. Through her volunteering with a Wandsworth charity, she also has experience of working with those experiencing depression, isolation, loneliness and loss.
Lucy is currently studying her Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling. She is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and works within The Awareness Centre’s NHS counselling service in Wandsworth.
