Lucy is a qualified and experienced therapeutic counsellor and registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). She works with individual adults (18+) on a short/fixed-term or open-ended basis.

Lucy has experience of working in the NHS, low-cost therapy services, schools, bereavement services and private practice with a range of mental health issues including (but not limited to): Depression, anxiety, stress, work-related issues, self-esteem and identity issues, grief and bereavement, planned/unplanned childlessness, relationship/friendship/family issues, ageing and/or illness, loneliness.  She also has many years’ experience working in the corporate environment and is attuned to the pressures work can place on people and the affects it has on their personal life.

Her way of working is integrative which enables her to draw on established psychotherapeutic theories (predominantly person-centred and psychodynamic) to tailor her approach to reflect a client’s unique concerns and individuality.  Lucy provides a confidential, genuine, empathic and non-judgemental space to help foster a trusting relationship with her clients.

There are times when you might need some extra support with your mental health and wellbeing. Lucy’s aim is to help you feel better, come to terms with the past or what is troubling you currently, and/or find ways to support you to identify a future that works for you.  Maybe a work or life event has thrown you off course, or you are struggling with new or ongoing feelings of anxiety and/or depression, or there are things in your past, present or future that you want to process and come to terms with. Counselling can support you with any and all of this.
