Sabina Coghe is a seasoned and compassionate Psychological Therapist specializing in trauma therapy, with over 25 years of experience in mental health care. Known for her expertise in complex trauma cases, Sabina has worked extensively in the community health non-profit sector and within the NHS in secondary care, where she most recently served in a specialised ADAPT team, providing assessment and trauma-focused treatment for clients facing some of the most challenging psychological issues. Her work addresses a wide range of affect and personality disorders and trauma presentations, including rape, domestic violence, coercive control, narcissistic abuse, sibling sexual abuse, childhood abuse/trauma, sex trafficking, trauma related to BDSM-practices, trauma bonding, and navigating complex gender identity concerns.

Sabina holds a Master’s Degree in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy from the University of Oxford and a Postgraduate Certificate in Enhanced CBT for Psychological Trauma also from the University of Oxford. She is currently completing her dissertation for her Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, with a focus on research into the Imposter Phenomenon. Registered with the British Psychological Society, (Division of Counselling Psychology) (BPS), British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), Sabina is also a certified EMDR practitioner (EMDR Assoc. Sabina’s trauma-centred approach distinguishes her as a specialist in treating highly complex trauma. Her integrative therapy practice combines EMDR, Psychodynamic Therapy, NET, CBT, DBT, and Compassion-Focused Therapy to create a customized therapeutic relational experience for each unique client. She works with a wide range of individuals, including adults and children, as well as couples and families, at The Awareness Centre in Clapham and by arrangement in other locations and via Telehealth.

Sabina’s clinical interests and expertise include: Trauma and PTSD (with specialization in complex cases), Traumatic Bereavement and Grief, Chronic Pain and Medically Unexplained Symptoms (such as Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia), Neurodiversity and Autism Assessments (qualified for both children and adults), Additional areas of focus: addictions, end-of-life palliative care, HIV/AIDS, gender identity, and mood disorders.
