Neil Bennett
Neil Bennett is a trainee counsellor and works in an Integrative Psychodynamic approach with clients, works within The Awareness Centre’s low cost counselling service in Tooting.
He aims to offer the client a safe, open and confidential space so they can work through the challenges, problems and difficulties they face in their life. Neil believes that we are all unique with individual needs; Neil’s approach is holistic, tailoring for the individual depending on what is right for them. His approach is to give the client the opportunity to explore in a safe and secure environment, the relationship with themselves and with others, both in the here and now and from the past. Neil believes strongly in the therapeutic alliance and potential of what this can do for clients to work through difficult thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Neil aims to bring clients to a more resilient, resourceful Self with inner strength that will carry his clients through their challenges in life.
Neil has been working in the health and social care sector for over 15 years, so he is familiar with a range complex multiple support needs. In this sector, Neil has worked with individuals struggling with substances abuse, and addiction also negative habitual behaviours, as well as mental health issues from depression to anxiety and a range of complex traumas. Neil has also spent his career supporting people from different and diverse backgrounds. Neil has also put together a health and wellbeing forum which helped support people struggling with the impact of Covid and lockdown. He has also put together a social enterprise scheme supporting people who identify as neuro-divergent, supporting them back into work,
