Ngozi Nmaju-France is a trainee counsellor currently completing a BACP-accredited Diploma in Integrative Counselling at The Awareness Centre. She is developing her clinical experience by supporting clients with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties while working within The Awareness Centre’s counselling service in Sutton. Ngozi works within the BACP Ethical Framework to provide safe, reflective and professional support. Her integrative training enables her to tailor therapy to each individual, drawing on person-centred principles alongside a range of therapeutic approaches to meet each client’s unique needs and circumstances.

Ngozi offers a warm, reflective and culturally sensitive space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions and life experiences at their own pace. Working from an integrative and person-centred approach, she values the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for trust, safety and meaningful change. Ngozi believes that every individual has the capacity for growth, healing and transformation, particularly when they are able to reconnect with their inner strength, sense of purpose and personal meaning. She also recognises that, for some people, this may be deeply connected to their spiritual beliefs, faith, or relationship with a higher power. Where this is meaningful to the client, she remains open and respectful in exploring these aspects as part of the therapeutic process. Her approach is collaborative, non-judgemental, and tailored to each individual, supporting greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a deeper understanding of self.

Ngozi’s practice is shaped by more than 20 years of experience across health, social care, and community settings. Her background includes nursing training, which has contributed to her holistic understanding of health and wellbeing, alongside extensive experience supporting individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds who are navigating complex life challenges, inequality, and major life transitions. She also leads community-based wellbeing, advocacy, and culturally responsive support programmes through Simply Pathways CIC. In addition, Ngozi has worked extensively across NHS-related services, local authorities, and private care settings, supporting individuals with a broad range of mental health and social care needs. As a Registered Care Manager and Safeguarding Lead, she has worked closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver person-centred, trauma-informed support. This wealth of professional experience informs her compassionate, grounded, and holistic approach, enabling her to offer clients a space where they feel understood, respected, and supported as they work towards meaningful and lasting change.
